Synipsis: Elegy– a poem of serious reflection, typically a lament for the dead.

William Finn was compelled to write Elegies – a song cycle as a response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York. Over a period of 6 months, he composed 18 eighteen diverse musical moments in memory of his friends and family. Three songs deal with the passing of his mother Barbara Finn, several deal with the deaths of his friends of AIDS and the final set of songs deal with the collapse of the World Trade Centre and the emotional aftermath. Finn has said many times that Elegies is his proudest achievement as a composer and lyricist.

Eledgies - a synesthetic experience
From laughter to tears, all in one show. Two completely opposite emotions, hard to take from an audience, but done with mastery!
